Section 11 of the Legislation Rules 2026 permits the First Parliamentary Counsel to add a name to an unnamed instrument or document or amend the name of an instrument or document lodged for registration if the First Parliamentary Counsel is satisfied that the instrument or document as lodged does not have a name, or that the name of the instrument or document as lodged is not unique.

Section 12 of the Legislation Rules 2026 permits the First Parliamentary Counsel to amend the name of an instrument or document lodged for registration to give the instrument or document a name that includes the year of its making if the First Parliamentary Counsel is satisfied that the name of the instrument or document as lodged does not include that year.
