These Regulations were originally made under s 35 of the Referendum (Constitution Alteration) Act 1906 and s 395 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 and are continued in force under s 144 of the Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984 and s 395 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (see s 145 of the Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Act 1984). This instrument was backcaptured in accordance with Section 36 of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003.
