These Regulations amend the Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Regulations 2002 to bring them in line with the amendments made to the Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Act 2002, following the Same Sex Relationships (Equal Treatment in Commonwealth Laws General Law Reform) Act 2008.

I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Act 2002.

1              Name of Regulations

                These Regulations are the Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

                These Regulations are taken to have commenced on 10 December 2008.

3              Amendment of Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Regulations 2002

                Schedule 1 amends the Members of Parliament (Life Gold Pass) Regulations 2002.
