Schedule 1—Description of quality assurance activity
This instrument is the Health Insurance (Quality Assurance Activity – I-MED Radiology Network Review of Radiologist Reports) Declaration 2026
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under subsection 124X(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973.
This instrument is repealed when it ceases to be in force in accordance with subsection 124X(4) of the Health Insurance Act 1973.
The quality assurance activity described in the Schedule to this declaration is, to the extent that the quality assurance activity relates to health services provided in Australia, declared to be a quality assurance activity to which Part VC of the Health Insurance Act 1973 applies.
The name of the quality assurance activity is the I-MED Radiology Network Review of Radiologist Reports.
2 Description of activity
The activity involves structured peer review of radiology reports by Radiologists engaged by I‑MED to assess report accuracy, clarity and clinical appropriateness.
The activity provides feedback and recommendations to practitioners and monitors the implementation of these recommendations. The activity also identifies and manages quality issues, supports escalation to further review where required, and informs broader quality improvements across I-MED’s services.
The Activity aims to improve clinical performance, clinical decision making, communication and patient safety on a nationally consistent basis.
The Activity is overseen by I‑MED’s clinical governance committee and supported by designated clinical leaders.
