5 Definitions

Note: Eligible cyclone loss is defined in section 3 of the Act.

In this instrument:

Act means the Terrorism and Cyclone Insurance Act 2003.

area that has a postcode, for a postcode, means the area within a polygon with that postcode specified in the dataset that is titled National Postcode Boundaries Dataset of February 2025 published by Geoscape Australia Limited (ABN 23 089 912 710).

Note: The National Postcode Boundaries dataset could in 2025 be accessed on the Geoscape Australia website (https://geoscape.com.au).

For the purposes of subsection 8A(7) of the Act, the risk of eligible cyclone losses arising in an area that has a postcode listed in the following table is so small as to be negligible:
