This instrument is the Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Amendment Rules (No. 2) 2025.

(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Authority

This instrument is made under item 9 of the table in subsection 333-20(1) of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Private Health Insurance (Data Provision) Rules 2018

1 Section 4 (definition of HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department)

Repeal the definition, substitute:

HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department means the protocol set out in the document Supplementary – HCP Data Specifications HCP1 Insurer to Department 2025-26 approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Private Hospitals Branch of the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing on 17 October 2025 and which consists of:

(a) Explanatory Notes;

(b) Data Specifications – Episode;

(d) Data Specifications – MDHT; and

(e) Data Specification – AN-SNAP.

HCP1 Data from Insurers to the Department 2024-25 means the protocol set out in the document Supplementary – HCP Data Specifications HCP1 Insurer to Department 2024-25 approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Data and Analytics Branch of the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing on 17 October 2025 and which consists of:

(a) Explanatory Notes;

(b) Data Specifications – Episode;

(d) Data Specifications – MDHT; and

(e) Data Specification – AN-SNAP.
