Veterans’ Entitlements (Treatment Principles) Amendment (Outreach Program Counsellor) Determination 2025

I, Andrew Kefford, as delegate of the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, approve for the purposes of subsection 90(6) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, the determination by the Repatriation Commission in the following determination.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Treatment Principles (Instrument 2013 No. R52)

 

 

  This instrument is the Veterans’ Entitlements (Treatment Principles) Amendment (Outreach Program Counsellor) Determination 2025.

  This instrument commences on the day after the day it is registered.

  This instrument is made under subsection 90(5) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

 

1  Paragraph 1.4.1

“AHPRA” means the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency established under section 23 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as in force in a State or Territory.

2  Paragraph 1.4.1 (definition of outreach program counsellor)

Substitute

“outreach program counsellor” means:

 

  1.          a person who is registered with AHPRA to practise as a psychologist;
  2.         a person who is registered with AHPRA to practise as an occupational therapist;
  3.          a person who is registered with AHPRA to practise as a registered nurse;
  4.         a person who is eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (ABN 93 008 576 010);
  5.          a person who is registered:

(i) as a registered clinical counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (ABN 91 794 316 901); or

(ii) at registration category Level 3 or Level 4 with the Australian Counselling Association Limited (ABN 12 242 711 378):

being a person approved by the Department or the Commission to provide outreach program counselling under Part 7.7A.
