Private Health Insurance (Health Insurance Business) Rules 2018

This instrument is made under item 6 of the table in subsection 333-20(1) of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
1 Subrule 4(2)
Repeal the subrule, substitute:
(2) In this rule, HCP Data from Hospitals to Insurers means the protocol set out in the document approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Private Hospitals Branch of the Department of Health and Aged Care on 14 April 2025 which consists of “Data Specifications (HCP)” and “Explanatory Notes (HCP)”, and sets out the data specifications for data provided by hospitals to private health insurers.
2 Subrule 7(3)
Repeal the subrule, substitute:
(3) In this rule, PHDB Data from Private Hospitals to the Department means the protocol set out in the document approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Private Hospitals Branch of the Department of Health and Aged Care on 14 April 2025 which consists of “Data Specifications (PHDB)” and “Explanatory Notes (PHDB)”, and sets out the data specifications for data provided by private hospitals to the Department.
