Currency (Australian Coins) Determination 2019

 

  This instrument is the Currency (Australian Coins) Amendment (2025 Royal Australian Mint No. 4) Determination 2025.

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

A design consisting of:

(a) in the background, the following stylised sights from the city of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory:

(i) Parliament House, with 5 hot air balloons floating above; and

(ii) Black Mountain Tower in front of bushland; and

(iii) a side view of the Royal Australian Mint building, above additional bushland; and

(b) in the foreground, a representation of a bounding kangaroo; and

(c) the following:

(i) Arabic numerals for the amount, in dollars or cents, of the denomination of the coin, followed by “DOLLAR”, “DOLLARS” or “CENTS” as the case requires; and

(ii) “Xoz .999 Ag” (where “X” is the nominal weight in ounces of the coin, expressed as a whole number or a common fraction in Arabic numerals); and

(iii) “BS”.

A design, inspired by the Christmas orchid (Calanthe triplicata) and in a symmetrical pattern, consisting of:

(a) at the top of the coin, an ornamental border enclosing the following:

(i) “2025”; and

(b) in the centre of the coin, a stylised representation of a purplecoloured bauble with shaded decorative patterns and a shaded border hanging from the ornamental border; and

(c) in the foreground, and partially obscuring the bauble, a coloured stylised representation of an orchid, viewed from above; and

(d) surrounding the bauble and orchid, a stylised representation of an orchid at different stages of growth, from bud to full bloom, with foliage; and

(e) the following:

(i) a stylised representation of the designer’s initials “LA”.
