Remuneration Tribunal (Members of Parliament) Determination 2024

 

  This instrument is the Remuneration Tribunal (Members of Parliament) Amendment Determination (No. 1) 2025.

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

  This instrument is made under section 46 of the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.

  Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

 

1  Paragraph 4.7(a)

Omit “by reason of either”, substitute “by reason of any”.

2  Subparagraph 4.7(a)(ii)

Omit “State); and”, substitute “State);”.

3  At the end of paragraph 4.7(a)

Add:

 (iii) the person was a member of the House of Representatives for an electoral division that ceased to exist because of an electoral redistribution; and

4  Subparagraph 4.7(b)(ii)

Omit “employment.”, substitute “employment; and”.

5  After paragraph 4.7(b)

Insert:

 (c) if the person is a former member because of the circumstance mentioned in subparagraph (a)(iii) of this section, the person did not contest the election immediately following the relevant redistribution.
