Schedule 1—Amendments
Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997
This instrument is the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Amendment (Foreign Affairs and Trade Measures No. 1) Regulations 2025.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Act 1997.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
1 Part 4 of Schedule 1AB (table item 417)
Repeal the item, substitute:
417 | Support for the Cook Islands | To provide ongoing financial assistance to, or for the benefit of, the Cook Islands, including for initiatives relating to regional issues in the Pacific. This objective has the effect it would have if it were limited to measures: (a) with respect to places, persons, matters or things external to Australia; or (b) with respect to the relations of the Commonwealth with the islands of the Pacific. |

Insert:
709 | Support for the Republic of Nauru | To provide financial assistance and other forms of support to, or for the benefit of, Nauru, in connection with the Nauru–Australia Treaty signed on 9 December 2024, as a measure with respect to external affairs (within the meaning of paragraph 51(xxix) of the Constitution). This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to measures with respect to the relations of the Commonwealth with the islands of the Pacific. |
