Notice of Intention to Propose Customs Tariff Alterations (No. 2) 2022
In accordance with section 273EA of the Customs Act 1901, read with section 56 of the Legislation Act 2003, I, Kimberlee Stamatis, delegate of the Minister for Home Affairs, give notice that it is intended, within 7 sitting days of the House of Representatives after the date of registration of this Notice, to propose in the Parliament a Customs Tariff alteration in accordance with the particulars specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
The alteration in Schedule 1 operates starting on 1 April 2022 in relation to:
(a) goods imported into Australia on or after 1 April 2022; and
(b) goods imported into Australia before 1 April 2022, where the time for working out the rate of import duty on the goods had not occurred before 1 April 2022.
The alteration in Schedule 2 operates starting on 1 July 2022 in relation to:
(a) goods imported into Australia on or after 1 July 2022; and
(b) goods imported into Australia before 1 July 2022, where the time for working out the rate of import duty on the goods had not occurred before 1 July 2022.

Repeal the paragraph.
1 Schedule 4 (cell at table item 57, column headed “Description of goods”)
Repeal the cell, substitute:
Goods, as prescribed by by‑law, where: (a) the goods are medical products or hygiene products; or (b) both of the following apply: (i) the goods are ingredients to be used in the production of medicaments or other goods; (ii) the medicaments or other goods, if imported, would be classified under Chapter 30 of Schedule 3; or (c) both of the following apply: (i) the goods are containers to be used for containing medicaments or other goods; (ii) the medicaments or other goods, if imported, would be classified under Chapter 30 of Schedule 3. |
