(1) This instrument is the Migration (LIN 20/004: Places and Currencies for Paying of Fees) Instrument 2020.
(2) This instrument may be cited as LIN 20/004.
This instrument commences on 1 July 2020.
This instrument is made under paragraphs 5.36(1)(a) and (b) of the Regulations.
In this instrument:
fee has the meaning defined in subregulation 5.36(4) of the Regulations.
foreign country has the meaning as defined in section 2B of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.
Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994.
VAC means Visa Application Charge.
According to subsection 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, the instrument Migration (LIN 20/002: Places and Currencies for Paying of Fees) Instrument 2020 is repealed.
Part 2—Payment of VAC, and fees, in foreign currencies
6 Places and currencies for payment of VAC, and fees, in foreign currencies
For the purposes of subregulation 5.36(1) of the Regulations, payment of a VAC or a fee must be made in a place specified in Column 1 of an item of the following table, in the currency specified in Column 2 for that item.
Note: Payment of a VAC mentioned in this section does not include a VAC mentioned in subregulation 5.36(3A) of the Regulations.
