Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Regulations 1997
This instrument is the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Amendment (Education Measures No. 3) Regulations 2019.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Act 1997.

Insert:
362 | Research, tools and strategies to boost Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages education | To support the teaching and learning of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages in schools, including by providing funding to: (a) conduct research into best‑practice resources and models for such teaching and learning; and (b) develop resources and a national workforce strategy to support such teaching and learning; and (c) develop and provide professional development courses to support such teaching and learning. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding for measures: (a) for, or in relation to, Indigenous Australians or particular groups of Indigenous Australians; or (b) to give effect to Australia’s obligations under either or both of the following: (i) the Convention on the Rights of the Child, particularly Articles 4, 28 and 29; (ii) the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, particularly Articles 2 and 27. |
