(1) This instrument is the Migration (Class of Persons and Specified Events for Class GG visa and Subclass 408 (Temporary Activity) visa) Instrument 2019/231.

(2) This instrument may be cited as LIN 19/231.

2 Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

3 Authority

This instrument is made under the following provisions of the Regulations:

(a) subregulation 2.07(5);

(b) subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i) of Schedule 1;

(d) paragraph 408.229(c) of Schedule 2.

4 Definitions

In this instrument:

designated participant of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 means a person who:

(a) has been approved for accreditation by T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd, in conjunction with the ICC, as a participant of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020; and

(b) has been endorsed in writing by T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd as a participant for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020; and

(i) ICC Business Corporation FZ LLC, (IBC);

(ii) the ICC Chairman; ICC Chief Executive; a member of the ICC Board of Directors; or ICC Executive;

(iii) the spouse or de facto partner of the ICC Chairman; ICC Chief Executive; a member of the ICC Board of Directors; or ICC Executive;

(iv) ICC Staff including agents of the ICC, or representatives of the ICC;

(v) an invited guest of the ICC;

(vi) a member of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit;

(vii) an ICC Committee member;

(viii) an official Event Observer;

(ix) a member of a competing team including a player, coach, medical personnel, team management or a team official;

(x) a match official including an umpire or a referee;

(xi) personnel from Host Broadcast or a Rights Holder;

(xii) media personnel of Non-Rights Holders including a member of the written press;

(xiii) any other person who is approved for accreditation by the ICC or T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd as agreed to by the Government of Australia.

designated participant of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 means a person who:

(a) has been approved for accreditation by T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd, in conjunction with the ICC, as a participant of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020; and

(b) has been endorsed in writing by T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd as a participant of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020; and

(i) ICC Business Corporation FZ LLC, (IBC);

(ii) the ICC Chairman; ICC Chief Executive; a member of the ICC Board of Directors; or ICC Executive;

(iii) the spouse or de facto partner of the ICC Chairman; ICC Chief Executive; a member of the ICC Board of Directors; or ICC Executive;

(iv) ICC Staff including agents of the ICC; or representatives of the ICC;

(v) an invited guest of the ICC;

(vi) a member of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit;

(vii) ICC Committee member;

(viii) an official Event Observer;

(ix) a member of a competing team including a player, coach, medical personnel, team management or a team official;

(x) a match official including an umpire or a referee;

(xi) personnel from Host Broadcast or a Rights Holder;

(xii) media personnel of Non-Rights Holders including a member of the written press;

(xiii) any other person who is approved for accreditation by the ICC or T20 World Cup 2020 Ltd as agreed to by the Government of Australia.

designated participant of the INAS 2019 Global Games means a person who has been accredited by the Global Games Sports Company to participate in the event and who is:

(a) endorsed in writing by the INAS 2019 Global Games organising committee as a participant and be performing an agreed role in the event; and

(b) an INAS 2019 Global Games participating nation team member including a competitor; team management personnel; a coach or trainer; a team official; a medical employee and a member of the support staff; or

(c) an international technical delegate or an event official including INAS Governing Board, Anti Doping, Classification, Paralympic and International Federation Technical delegates.

ICC means the International Cricket Council

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 means the Men’s International Cricket Council Twenty20 World Cup located in Australia in 2020

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 means the Women’s International Cricket Council Twenty20 World Cup located in Australia in 2020

INAS 2019 Global Games means the International Federation for Intellectual Impairment Sports (INAS) 2019 Global Games

Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994

VAC means a Visa Application Charge

Part 2—Specified Events

5 Specified events for paragraph 408.229(b)

For the purposes of paragraph 408.229(b) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, the following events are specified:

(a) INAS 2019 Global Games;

(b) ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020;

Part 3—Specified classes of persons

6 Class of persons for subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i)

For the purposes of subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the following persons are a member of a class of persons specified for a nil VAC:

(a) an applicant who is a designated participant in the INAS 2019 Global Games;

(b) an applicant who is a designated participant in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020;

7 Class of persons for paragraph 408.229(c)

For the purposes of paragraph 408.229(c) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, the following persons are a member of a class of persons for the relevant event listed in section 5.

(a) an applicant who is a designated participant in the INAS 2019 Global Games;

(b) an applicant who is a designated participant in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020;

Part 4—Repeal

8 Migration (LIN 19/035: Class of Persons and Specified Events for Class GG visa and Subclass 408 (Temporary Activity) visa) Instrument 2019

Under subparagraph 1237(2)(a)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations and paragraphs 408.229(b) and (c) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, and according to subsection 33(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, the instrument Migration (LIN 19/035: Class of Persons and Specified Events for Class GG visa and Subclass 408 (Temporary Activity) visa) Instrument 2019 is revoked.
