The Australian Communications and Media Authority makes the following instrument under subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

This is the Variation to Licence Area Plan – Launceston Radio – December 2001 – 2018 (No. 1).
This instrument commences at the start of the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.

This instrument is made under subsection 26(2) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
The Licence Area Plan – Launceston Radio – December 2001 (F2005B00973) (principal instrument) is varied as follows:
(a) the principal instrument is renamed as the Licence Area Plan – Launceston Radio;
(b) in the heading to the principal instrument, omit “DETERMINATION”;
(c) omit paragraph (1), substitute:
This plan for radio broadcasting services in the Launceston area of Tasmania is made under subsection 26(1) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
(d) in paragraph (2):
(i) omit “Five”, substitute “Six”;
(ii) omit “1.1.6”, substitute “1.6”;
(e) in each of paragraphs (2), (3), (4) and (5), omit “Determination” and substitute “plan” (each occurrence);
(f) omit paragraph (6), substitute:
(6) In this plan, unless the contrary intention appears:
(a) a reference to a schedule or an attachment is a reference to a schedule or an attachment to this plan; and
(b) a reference to the Broadcasting Services (Technical Planning) Guidelines 2017 is a reference to that instrument as in force from time to time; and
(c) a reference to any other legislative instrument is a reference to that other instrument as in force from time to time; and
(d) a reference to any other kind of instrument or writing is a reference to that other kind of instrument or writing as in force or in existence at the time the reference was included in this plan.

This service has been planned on an interference limited basis; field strengths below the planned minimum median field strength are likely to suffer interference from other broadcasting services.
Any transmission in accordance with this specification is planned on the basis that it will be protected to a minimum median field strength level of 66 dBµV/m against interference from other broadcasting services.
