Application of repeal
(1) This instrument is the Migration (LIN 18/090: Arrangements for Medical Treatment (Visitor) (Class UB) Visa Applications) Instrument 2018.
(2) This instrument may be cited as LIN 18/090.
This instrument commences the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
This instrument is made under subregulation 2.07(5) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.
Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in:
(a) regulation 1.03 of the Regulations;
(b) subsection 5(1) of the Act.
In this instrument:
Act means the Migration Act 1958.
Medical Treatment Visa means a Medical Treatment (Visitor) (Class UB) Visa.
Regulations means Migration Regulations 1994.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Part 2—Specified Arrangements for Medical Treatment Visa Applications
6 Approved form for Medical Treatment Visa Applications
For the purposes of subitem 1214A(1) of the Regulations, the approved form for making an application for a Medical Treatment Visa is Form 48ME.
7 Approved place and manner for Medical Treatment Visa Applications
(1) For the purposes of paragraph 1214A(3)(a) of the Regulations, the approved place and manner for making an application for a Medical Treatment Visa, by a person who is in Australia is by:
(a) posting the application to the following postal address, with the correct prepaid postage:

(b) delivering the application, by courier service, to the following address :

(2) For the purposes of paragraph 1214A(3)(a), a person who is outside Australia must make an application for a Medical Treatment Visa at a diplomatic, consular or migration office maintained by or on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Repeal the instrument.
Schedule 2—Savings, transitional and other provisions
Part 1 – Application of the instrument
This instrument applies to an application for a Medical Treatment (Visitor) (Class UB) Visa made on or after the commencement date of the instrument.
Part 2 – Application of repeal
Despite the repeal of the Arrangements for medical treatment visa applications 2015 (IMMI 15/037) Instrument by Schedule 1, IMMI 15/037 as in force immediately before the commencement of Schedule 1, continues to apply in relation to a visa application mentioned in IMMI 15/037 if that application was made before the commencement of this instrument.
