Instrument under section 270B of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 to make a Threat Abatement Plan

I, MELISSA PRICE, Assistant Minister for the Environment, under section 270B of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, have decided to make the Threat Abatement Plan for the impacts of marine debris on the vertebrate wildlife of Australia’s coasts and oceans, for the purpose of reducing the effect of the key threatening process as specified below:

Injury and fatality to vertebrate marine life caused by ingestion of, or entanglement in, harmful marine debris

The Threat Abatement Plan for the impacts of marine debris on the vertebrate wildlife of Australia’s coasts and oceans will come into force on the day after the plan is registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
