1  Name

  This instrument is the Biosecurity (Ballast Water Same Risk Area) Instrument 2017.

2  Commencement

 (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1.  The whole of this instrument

At the same time as subsection 21(2) of the Biosecurity (Ballast Water and Sediment) Determination 2017 commences.

4  Victoria—Port Phillip

  The area of Port Phillip, Victoria, landward of the geodesic between the easternmost point of Point Lonsdale at low water and the westernmost point of Point Nepean at low water is specified.

5  Queensland—Great Barrier Reef

  The area bounded by the line starting at the point described in item 1 of the following table and running sequentially as described in the table is specified.

West along that parallel to its intersection by the low water line of the mainland of Australia around South Head, Bundaberg, Queensland

Generally northwesterly, northerly, northwesterly and southerly along that low water line to the starting point
