This instrument is the Parliamentary Business Resources (Office Holder) Determination 2017.

This instrument commences at the same time as the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.

This instrument is made under section 7 of the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.

Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the Act, including the following:

(a) member;

(b) office holder.

In this instrument:

Act means the Parliamentary Business Resources Act 2017.

minority party has the same meaning as in the Parliamentary Business Resources Regulations 2017.

(1) For the purposes of section 7 of the Act, a member who:

(a) holds a position specified in Schedule 1, or

(b) performs a function of a kind specified in Schedule 1;

is an office holder.

11	Temporary Chair of Committees in the Senate
12	Chair or Deputy Chair of a properly constituted Parliamentary Committee, including Select, Standing and Statutory Committees, and whether Joint or of a single House.
