ARRANGEMENTS FOR STUDENT VISA APPLICATIONS 2016/017

I, PETER DUTTON, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, acting under
subregulation 2.07(5) of the Migration Regulations 1994 (the Regulations) SPECIFY:

  1. the approved forms for the purposes of subitem 1222(1) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; and
  2. the place and the manner for making an application for the purposes of paragraph 1222(3)(a) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations in the Schedule to this Instrument.

This Instrument, Arrangements for Student Visa Applications 2016/017, IMMI 16/017 commences immediately after the commencement of Schedule 4 of the Migration Legislation Amendment (2016 Measures No.1) Regulation 2016.

Application must be made:

  1. as an internet application; or
  2. by submitting the application in accordance with the directions in the authorising email, and with a copy of the authorising email, before midnight (AEST or AEDST when applicable) on the day following the date on which the authorising email was sent by (the authorised officer of) the Department; or
  3. If the applicant is outside Australia the authorised application may also be made at a diplomatic, consular or migration office maintained by or on behalf of the Commonwealth outside Australia.
