Schedule 1—Amendments
Interstate Road Transport Charge Regulations 2009
This is the Interstate Road Transport Charge Amendment (2016 Measures No. 1) Regulation 2016.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Interstate Road Transport Charge Act 1985.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Interstate Road Transport Charge Regulations 2009
1 Regulation 7B (heading)
Repeal the heading, substitute:
7B Registration charges—2013‑2014, 2014‑2015 and 2015‑2016 financial years
2 Regulation 7B
Omit “, for any financial year after 30 June 2013 (the relevant financial year)”, substitute “for a full year of registration that begins during the 2013‑2014, 2014‑2015 or 2015‑2016 financial year (the relevant financial year)”.

Insert:
7C Registration charges—2016‑2017 financial year
(1) For subsection 5(3) of the Act, the amount of the charge for the registration of a vehicle for a full year of registration that begins during the 2016‑2017 financial year is worked out using the formula:
where:
regulatory component means:
(a) if the vehicle is a load carrying vehicle of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (5)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of load carrying vehicle; or
(b) if the vehicle is a trailer of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (6)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of trailer; or
(c) if the vehicle is a bus of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (7)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of bus.
road component means:
(a) if the vehicle is a load carrying vehicle of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (2)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of load carrying vehicle; or
(b) if the vehicle is a trailer of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (3)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of trailer; or
(c) if the vehicle is a bus of a kind mentioned in the table in subregulation (4)—the amount set out in that table for that kind of bus.
Example: The road component set out in subregulation (2) for a truck (type 1) is $418 and the regulatory component set out in subregulation (5) for a truck (type 1) is $202. The amount of the charge for the registration of a truck (type 1) is therefore $620.
