1 Name of Variation
This Variation is the Telecommunications Numbering Plan Variation 2011 (No. 2).
2 Commencement
This Variation commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Variation of Telecommunications Numbering Plan 1997
Schedule 1 varies the Telecommunications Numbering Plan 1997.
4 Transitional – numbers taken to have been allocated
The repeal by this Variation of Chapter 13 of the Telecommunications Numbering Plan 1997 does not affect the declaration, for subsection 75 (1) of the Telecommunications (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1997, that specified numbers are taken to have been allocated to specified persons on 31 December 1997.
Note Subsection 75 (3) of the Telecommunications (Transitional Provisions and Consequential Amendments) Act 1997 provides that the section does not prevent the subsequent transfer, surrender or withdrawal of numbers that are declared to have been allocated to specified persons.

Information about allocations Under subsection 455 (6) of the Act, rules about the allocation of numbers to carriage service providers may authorise the allocation of specified numbers in accordance with an allocation system determined under section 463 of the Act, or otherwise. The rules in this Chapter deal with administrative allocations of numbers for use in connection with the supply of carriage services. They do not deal with allocation in accordance with an allocation system.
