I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Charter of the United Nations Act 1945.

1 Name of Regulations

  These Regulations are the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions — Cote D’Ivoire) Amendment Regulations 2011 (No. 1).

2 Commencement

  These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

3 Amendment of Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions Cote DIvoire) Regulations 2008

  Schedule 1 amends the Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions Cote DIvoire) Regulations 2008.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(regulation 3)

 

[1] Regulation 5

substitute

5 Export sanctioned goods

  For these Regulations, export sanctioned goods means:

 (a) arms or related matériel; and

 (b) vehicles.

[2] Paragraph 10 (2) (e)

substitute

 (e) is a supply of arms or related matériel or vehicles that:

 (i) is intended solely for the support of the Ivorian process of Security Sector Reform, pursuant to a formal request by the Ivorian Government; and

 (ii) is approved in advance by the Committee; or

[3] Subparagraph 10 (2) (f) (ii)

omit

 (g) is a supply of vehicles, other than to the Ivorian security forces.

[5] Subparagraph 13 (2) (c) (i)
