Logbook Determination (Informally Managed fishery) 2011

                                                                             

 

I, JAMES FINDLAY, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, as its delegate pursuant to delegation numbered 30 of 2008 dated 1st July 2008 from the Commission, make the following Determination under section 42(1) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

  1. This Determination may be cited as Logbook Determination (Informally Managed Fishery) 2011

2.                        This Determination commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.

 

Period of Application

3.                        This Determination expires on 31st December 2015 and unless further re-determined prior to that date any logbook herein, must not thereafter be used.

4.                         Terms defined in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 have the same meanings in this Determination.

5.                  Holders of fishing concessions granted for the Informally Managed Fishery must keep and maintain the following logbooks, containing information in respect of their activities in accordance with the instructions in that logbook:

  1. For concessions authorising the use of purse seine methods:

Purse Seine Daily Fishing Log PS01A; and

Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery Catch Disposal Record GAB2C.

b.            For concessions authorising the use of trawl fishing methods:

Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery Catch Disposal Record GAB2C; and

Southern and Western Finfish Trawl Daily Fishing Log SWT01A or Eastern Finfish Trawl Daily Fishing Log EFT01B.

c.             For all concession holders transporting fish in greater than one consignment to be received by a person granted a Commonwealth Fish Receiver Permit:

6. The form and content of the logbooks for the fishery to be kept by the concession holder are:

(a)         Commonwealth Managed Fisheries Transit Form CTF; as published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. GN 23, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 pages 1261 – 1264 inclusive.

(b)         Great Australian Bight Trawl Fishery Catch Disposal Record GAB2C; as published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. GN 23, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 pages 1280 – 1287 inclusive.

(c)         Southern and Western Finfish Trawl Daily Fishing Log SWT01A; as published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. GN 23, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 pages 1426 – 1435 inclusive.

(d)         Purse Seine Daily Fishing Log PS01A; as published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. GN 23, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 pages 1347 – 1356 inclusive.

(e)         Eastern Finfish Trawl Daily Fishing Log EFT01B; as published in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette No. GN 23, Wednesday, 15 June 2011 pages 1265 – 1274 inclusive.
