EASTERN TUNA & BILLFISH FISHERY BRANCHLINE CLIPS DETERMINATION 2009
The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes the following determination under section 3 of the Fisheries Management (Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005) Temporary Order 2009.

2. This Determination commences on the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
Interpretation
3. A term used in this Determination that is defined in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Management Plan 2005 (the Management Plan) has the meaning given to it in the Management Plan; and a term used in this determination that is defined in the Fisheries Management (Eastern Tuna and Billfish Management Plan 2005) Temporary Order 2009 (the Temporary order) has the meaning given to it in the Temporary Order.
Determination of Branchline Clips Deduction Number
4. For the fishing season commencing on 1 November 2009 and ending on 28 February 2011 (the Season):
a) The 12 month period referred to in sub-clause 3(4) of the Temporary Order is the 2008 calendar year;
b) Accordingly, the fixed number of branchline clips that each holder of statutory fishing rights will be deemed to have used during each pelagic longline fishing operation in the fishery during the season is:
(i) For all areas of the fishery except for the Coral Sea zone: 1250 clips;
(ii) For the Coral Sea zone: 460 clips
Note: Because no sub-areas, and sub-area factors, have been determined, under s13 of the Management Plan, in accordance with the formula in section 20 of the Management Plan the number of effort units the holder of a holder of a longline SFR will expend during each pelagic logline fishing operation in the fishery in the season will be the same as the number of branchline clips used.
