This Determination is the Motor Vehicle Standards (Used Imported Vehicle Report) Determination 2006 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This Determination commences on the day after registration on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
3 Revocation of the Motor Vehicle Standards (Used Imported Vehicle Report) Determination 2002 (2).
Motor Vehicle Standards (Used Imported Vehicle Report) Determination 2002 (2) is revoked.
Note: The Motor Vehicle Standards (Used Import Vehicle Report) Determination 2002 (2) was made by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Transport and Regional Services on 12 December 2002 and notified in the Gazette on 18 December 2002.
(1) In this Determination:
Act means the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989.
ADR means the Australian Design Rules.
Full bump means when the suspension is fully compressed.
Plate location means the location of the Used Import Plate as required by the Motor Vehicle Standards (Placement of Used Import Plates) Determination 2004 (No.1) made under s13B of the Act in accordance with the grid locations specified in the Vehicle Inspection Manual as approved by the Administrator of Vehicle Standards on 9 December 2002.
vehicle identification number (VIN), for a vehicle, means a number:
(a) corresponding to the vehicle identification number of the vehicle; and
(b) stated on a used import plate that identifies the vehicle.
VIN location means the position on the vehicle, of the Vehicle Identification Number as required by clause 5.1 of ADR 61/02 in accordance with the grid locations specified in the Vehicle Inspection Manual as approved by the Administrator of Vehicle Standards on 9 December 2002.
(2) Unless the contrary intention appears, a word or expression that is used in this Determination and in the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations 1989 has the same meaning in this Determination as it has in those Regulations.

5 Vehicle inspection certificate
For subsection 13D (2) of the Act, a report in relation to a used imported vehicle (to be known as a Vehicle Inspection Certificate) is to be in the form, and contain the information, set out in Schedule 1.
