1 Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the Privacy (Private Sector) Amendment Regulations 2005 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.
3 Amendment of Privacy (Private Sector) Regulations 2001
Schedule 1 amends the Privacy (Private Sector) Regulations 2001.

9 Exceptions to National Privacy Principle 7.2 — Centrelink Confirmation eServices
For paragraph 7.2 (c) of the National Privacy Principles:
(a) an organisation specified in Schedule 3 is a prescribed organisation; and
(b) the Customer Reference Number assigned to an individual by Centrelink is a prescribed identifier; and
(c) the prescribed circumstance is that the Customer Reference Number is used or disclosed by a prescribed organisation, with the consent of the individual concerned, to access Centrelink Confirmation eServices for the purpose of making a Customer Confirmation enquiry to determine whether the individual is entitled to receive a concession.
