ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY RELIEF TRUST FUND
RULES APPLICABLE UNDER THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY RELIEF TRUST FUND REGULATIONS 1951
2. The Board of Trustees of the Fund hereby revokes any previous Rules made pursuant to Regulation 9.
3. Trustees are to receive and consider applications for benefits from the Fund and determine whether any person, or group of persons, is eligible for benefits from the Fund.
4. Trustees may make payments, grants, loans or other benefit from the Fund to any eligible beneficiary of the Fund. The amount and type of payments, grants, loans or other benefits are to be determined by the Trustees.
5. Trustees may invest any part of the Fund in any manner that is legally permissible for the investment of trust funds in Australia.
6. Trustees may realise and convert any property forming part of the Fund into money.
7. Trustees may receive donated or granted funds, property or other assets and add them to the Fund.
8. Trustees may engage such clerical or administrative assistance as they consider necessary to manage the Fund.
9. Trustees may appoint in writing committees or regional agents, with delegated powers and functions, to assist with the administration of the Fund.
10. All payments, grants, loans and other benefits approved by Trustees, and approved expenses arising from the administration of the Fund, shall be paid from the Fund.
11. Trustees are not to receive remuneration for work related to the administration of the Fund. However, Trustees may be paid, out of the Fund, a rate of travel allowance equal to that promulgated in Defence Instructions for duties requiring travel that relates to the management of the Fund.
12. Trustees and their dependents are not eligible to receive benefits from the Fund.
13. The Trustees will ensure compliance with the requirements of the Act, the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 and the Auditor-General Act 1997 and any other applicable Commonwealth legislation.
