AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/B767/4 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability:

Applicable to all aircraft listed by customer code and variable number in the requirement document.

Requirement:

Boeing S.B. No. 767-55-0005 Rev 01 or latter FAA approved revision.

Note:  FAA AD 85-09-02, Amdt 39-5057 refers.

Compliance:

As detailed in the requirement document.

This Amendment becomes effective on 17 February 2005.

Background:

The failure of a pivot fitting pin on the B767 major fatigue test article was attributed to improper manufacture.  This directive is prompted by the discovery that a number of these parts were improperly manufactured.

This amendment is issued to update the requirement document revision status.

The original issue of this AD became effective on 31 July 1985.
