Inclusion of species in the list of threatened species under section 178 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999

I, ROBERT MURRAY HILL, Minister for the Environment and Heritage, pursuant to section 184(1) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, hereby amend the list referred to in section 178 of that Act by:

including in the list in the Extinct category

•              Vanvoorstia bennettiana (Bennetts Seaweed)

transferring from the Vulnerable category to the Critically Endangered category

•              Glyphis sp A (Speartooth Shark)

including in the list in the Endangered category

•              Glyphis sp C (Northern River Shark)

deleting from the list in the Vulnerable category

•              Carcharias taurus (Grey Nurse Shark)

including in the list in the Critically Endangered category

•              Carcharias taurus east coast population (Grey Nurse Shark east coast population)

including in the list in the Vulnerable category

•              Carcharias taurus west coast population (Grey Nurse Shark west coast population)
•              Rhincodon typus (Whale Shark)
