Licence Area Plan – Hobart Radio

(1) The Australian Broadcasting Authority hereby makes this plan for broadcasting services in the Hobart area of Tasmania, under subsection 26(1) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

(2) Twelve national radio broadcasting services, three commercial radio broadcasting services, one community broadcasting service and two open narrowcasting radio services are to be available in the area described at Attachment 1.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the services that are to be available in the area described at Attachment 1.1 are set out in Schedule One and Attachments 1.2, 1.4 – 1.17 and 1.19 – 1.21 to this plan.

(3) One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the area described at Attachment 2.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 2.1 are set out in Schedule Two and Attachments 2.2 – 2.3 to this plan.

(4) One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the area described at Attachment 3.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 3.1 are set out in Schedule Three and Attachment 3.2 to this plan.

(5) One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the area described at Attachment 4.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 4.1 are set out in Schedule Four and Attachments 4.2 – 4.4 to this plan.

(6) One community radio broadcasting service is to be available in the area described at Attachment 5.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 5.1 are set out in Schedule Five and Attachments 5.2 – 5.3 to this plan.

(7) One community radio service is to be available in the area described at Attachment 6.1 to this plan with the use of the broadcasting services bands. The characteristics, including technical specifications, of the service that is to be available in the area described at Attachment 6.1 are set out in Schedule Six and Attachments 6.2 – 6.3 to this plan.

(8) A reference in this determination to a schedule or an attachment includes a reference to a schedule or attachment as amended from time to time.

Special Condition:
