Notes to Tables 1.1 to 1.5
Note 1: Categories A5, A6, A13, A15, A16, A17, A26, A27, A28 and B32 have been withdrawn. Other missing sequentially numbered categories do not exist.
Note 2: If a requirement in a standard is qualified as applying only to ‘STS CE’ or ‘CE used in the supply of a Standard Telephone Service’, the requirement does not apply to voice services carried by cell or packet technologies (eg ethernet, ATM, frame relay or IP) or by modem.
Note 3: Compliance with clause 5.8 of ACA TS003, AS/ACIF S003 or AS/CA S003.1 is only required for items designed to connect to the PSTN using digital channel associated signalling (CAS) for voice operation.
Note 4: Compliance level 2 applies only for testing the requirements in this standard that are different from the requirements in the ETSI standards.
Note 5: Compliance level 2 applies for testing items with less than 2048 kbit per second interfaces or more than 2048 kbit per second interfaces. For items with 2048 kbit per second interfaces, compliance level 3 applies.
Note 6: This note is reserved.
Note 7: Category A22 applies to customer cables and related customer equipment that are designed or intended to be installed on customer’s premises and connected to a telecommunications network or facility, including all cable types, plugs, sockets and connectors, but not including surge protective devices (SPDs) supplied for installation by registered cabling providers. Such SPDs are required to comply with Category A52.
Note 8: Compliance level 2 applies only for testing the ‘emergency calling’ and ‘ignition of flammable atmospheres’ requirements in this standard that are different from the requirements in the ETSI standards.
