Quarantine Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 1)1
I, PETER JOHN HOLLINGWORTH, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Quarantine Act 1908.

1 Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the Quarantine Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
These Regulations commence on gazettal.
3 Amendment of Quarantine Regulations 2000
Schedule 1 amends the Quarantine Regulations 2000.
Schedule 1 Amendments
(regulation 3)
[1] Regulation 59, definition of prescribed penalty
substitute
prescribed penalty means:
(a) in relation to an infringement notice offence involving goods that:
(i) are prohibited for importation into Australia or the Cocos Islands by a Proclamation under section 13 of the Act; and
(ii) are subject to forfeiture under section 68 of the Act — 2 penalty units; or
(b) in any other case — 1 penalty unit.
