Orders No. 3 of 1985
Game, Poultry and Rabbit Meat Orders as
amended
PART 1—PRELIMINARY
Note on order 1 (Citation): Deleted by 10.86.

Commencement
2. These Orders shall come into operation on 29 April 1985.
Incorporation with Prescribed Goods (General) Orders
3. These Orders shall be read as one with the Prescribed Goods (General) Orders as amended.

Application
4. These Orders apply to—
(a) edible game offal;
(b) game meat;
(c) game meat products;
(d) poultry meat;
(e) poultry meat products;
(f) rabbit meat; and
(g) rabbit meat products,
which are declared to be prescribed goods.

Interpretation
5.1. In these Orders, unless the contrary intention appears—
‘boiler Fowl’ means a female bird which has reached maturity. (Inserted by 1/89);
‘dressed whole bird’ means the body of a slaughtered bird of an avian species specified in these Orders after—
(a) bleeding;
(b) plucking;
(c) evisceration of the internal digestive, respiratory, excretory, reproductive and circulatory organs; and
the removal of—
(d) the trachea, oesophagus and crop;
(e) the head at or near the occipital joint; and
(f) the feet between the tibiotarsus-tarsometatarsus (hock joint).

‘edible’ means suitable for human consumption;
‘edible game offal’ means the—
(a) liver;
(b) kidney; or
(c) heart,
of a game animal that has been separated from the carcase of the animal;
‘exotic disease means—
(a) African swine fever;
(b) classical swine fever or hog cholera;
(c) foot and mouth disease;
(d) swine vesicular disease;
(e) vesicular exanthema; and
(f) vesicular stomatitis;
‘game animal’ means a wild animal, other than a bird or rabbit, that has been killed in its habitat by a shot from a firearm;
‘game meat’ means any part of a game animal, other than edible game offal, intended for human consumption;
‘game meat product’ means a food that has been processed beyond boning, slicing or trimming, other than soup, that is suitable for human consumption, being a food that—
(a) has been prepared from game meat or edible game offal; or
(b) contains in excess of 5% by mass of game meat or edible game offal;
‘giblets’ means the heart, gizzard and liver and may include other visceral material. (Inserted by 1/89);
‘gizzard’ means the muscular stomach (ventriculus), devoid of contents.

‘poultry’ means―
(a) domesticated fowl, ducks, geese or turkeys; and
(b) any other kind of bird from which prescribed goods are derived and which are intended to be exported to a country which requires goods of that kind to comply with any condition or restriction specified in orders;

‘poultry meat’, means a part of poultry that is intended for human consumption;
‘poultry meat products’ means a food that has been processed beyond boning, slicing or trimming, other than soup, that is suitable for human consumption, being a food that—
(a) has been prepared from poultry meat; or
(b) contains in excess of 5% by mass of poultry meat;
‘prescribed tag’ means a tag containing the trade description details specified in Schedule 2 of these Orders.

‘rabbit’ includes a hare;
‘rabbit meat’ means a part of a rabbit that is intended for human consumption;
‘rabbit meat product’ means a food that has been processed beyond boning, slicing or trimming, other than soup, that is suitable for human consumption, being a food that—
(a) has been prepared from rabbit meat; or
(b) contains in excess of 5% by mass of rabbit meat.
‘spur’ means a bone spur core which arises from the inner side of the shaft of the tarsometatarsus approximately two-thirds distally along the shaft. (Inserted by 1/89);

5.2 A reference in these Orders to the Exports (Meat) Regulations is a reference to those Regulations as in force on 31 December 1982.
Application of orders to certain kinds of goods derived from poultry
5A. A condition or restriction specified in orders applies to prescribed goods deriving from any poultry other than domesticated fowl, ducks, geese or turkeys only to the extent that a condition or restriction of that kind is required to apply to prescribed goods of that kind by the country to which those prescribed goods are intended to be exported.

PART 2—REGISTERED ESTABLISHMENTS
Preparation in registered establishment
6. Prescribed goods to which these Orders apply shall be prepared in a registered establishment except that game animals or rabbits may be partly eviscerated before they are brought to an establishment.
Separate registration
6A. An establishment that is intended to be used to—
(a) dress, bone, manufacture, chill or freeze prescribed goods derived from game animals; or
(b) dress rabbits,
shall be registered only for the operations specified in paragraph (a) or the operation specified in paragraph (b) and shall not be concurrently registered for an operation which includes the preparation (other than storage) of prescribed goods to which the Export Meat Orders as amended apply.

Compliance with certain requirements
7. A registered establishment preparing prescribed goods to which these Orders apply shall comply with the requirements specified in Order 7A and the Exports (Meat) Regulations that relate to the construction of those premises.

Office for veterinary officer
7A. Where an authorized officer, who is a veterinary officer, is required to be present at an establishment during the preparation of prescribed goods, a lockable office having a minimum floor area of nine square metres shall be provided for the exclusive use of that officer which shall be equipped with—
(a) a telephone;
(b) a desk;
(c) a chair;
(d) a lockable metal cabinet;
(e) an approved locker; and
(f) where the floor is not treated with a treatment approved by the Secretary, a floor covering.

PART 3—CONDITIONS OR RESTRICTIONS
Conditions or restrictions to be complied with
8. For the purposes of subsection 8(3) of the Act, the export of prescribed goods to which these Orders apply is prohibited unless the conditions or restrictions specified in the Exports (Meat) Regulations in force as at 31 December 1982 and by these Orders, are complied with.

PART 4—APPLICATION OF OFFICIAL MARKS AND OTHER STAMPS
Official mark to be applied
9. Where prescribed goods have been prepared under the supervision of an authorized officer, inspected by an authorized officer and passed for export, an official mark, the design of which is specified in Schedule 11 to the Prescribed Goods (General) Orders as amended, shall be applied to—
(a) game meat in the form of bone-in carcases or bone-in portions of a carcase that have not been divided into primal or smaller cuts; and
(b) a prescribed tag that shall be attached to game meat in the form of bone-in carcases or bone-in portions of a carcase that have not been divided into primal or smaller cuts; and
(c) one side of a tag that is at least 75mm x 75mm that shall be permanently affixed to a bag in which game meat in the form of bone-in carcases or bone-in portions of a carcase that have not been divided into primal or smaller cuts are packed; or
(d) the outside of a carton, barrel or cask into which the goods are packed.

Optional application of official mark
10. Subject to order 9, where prescribed goods have been—
(a) derived from a carcase that has been subjected to a public health inspection by;
(b) prepared under the supervision of; and
(c) passed for export by,
an authorized officer, an official mark, the design of which is specified in Schedule 11 to the Prescribed Goods (General) Orders as amended, may be applied to—
(d) goods being game meat;
(e) goods being edible game offal;
(f) an intermediate package into which the goods are packed;
(g) a tag placed in an outer carton into which the goods are packed;
(h) a tag affixed to a container system unit into which the goods are packed; or
(i) a seal in accordance with order 15.

Application of stamp to poultry or rabbits not prepared under supervision
11. Where prescribed goods being—
(a) poultry meat or poultry meat products; or
(b) rabbit meat or rabbit meat products,
do not comply with paragraphs 10 (a) and (b), but have been—
(c) passed for export by an authorized officer; and
(d) packed in a carton or other covering,
the outside of the carton or other covering shall be stamped by, or at the direction of, an authorized officer with an inspection stamp in accordance with the design specified in the Schedule.
Legibility and fixing of official mark, etc
12. An—
(a) official stamp referred to in order 9 or 10; or
(b) inspection stamp referred to in order 11,
shall be applied so that it is legible and affixed in a reasonably permanent manner.
Means of applying official mark to surface of prescribed goods
13. Where an official mark referred to in order 9 or 10 is applied directly to the surface of prescribed goods, the mark shall be applied by means of—
(a) a thermal process;
(b) a food grade dye approved by the Secretary; or
(c) any other method approved by the Secretary.
Procedures to be maintained until advised otherwise
38. The procedures under order 37 shall be maintained until the competent authority in the State or Territory in which the registered establishment is located advises that they may be discontinued or that authority takes control.
Obligations of occupier of registered establishment
39. For the purposes of implementing the procedures under order 37, the occupier of a registered establishment shall have in place arrangements that shall—
(a) ensure that all the procedures can be put into effect without delay;
(b) ensure that all directions given by an authorized officer are implemented without delay;
(c) provide ready access to a telephone;
(d) maintain a system of inventory giving detailed information as to the—
(i) origin of carcases of game animals received;
(ii) origin of prescribed goods and other goods and their location on the establishment;
(iii) destination of prescribed goods and other goods that have left the establishment; and
(iv) destination of carcases of game animals that have left the establishment; and
(e) provide any other assistance or information that an authorized officer requests.
PART 10—EXPORT CERTIFICATION AND TRADE
DESCRIPTIONS
Ante and Post Mortem Certification
40. Where poultry from which poultry meat and poultry meat products are derived, have undergone ante and post mortem inspection, an authorized officer may issue to the occupier of the establishment or the person intending to export the goods, a certificate attesting to the inspection which shall be in writing in a form approved by the Secretary.
Requirements to be complied with
41. A trade description as set out in Column 3 of Schedule 2 to these Orders in relation to prescribed goods of a kind shown in Column 1 of Schedule 2, shall be applied to prescribed goods of that kind.

INSPECTION STAMP FOR POULTRY OR RABBITS
Design of stamp
The inspection stamp referred to in order 11 for poultry or rabbits that do not comply with paragraphs 10 (a) and (b) but that have been passed for export by an authorized officer shall be in accordance with the following design:

1. Game animal carcase | 1. A game animal carcase shall be derived from a wild animal other than a bird or rabbit, that has been killed in its habitat by a shot from a firearm.

The trade description shall include— (a) the words “Wild Game”; and (b) the name of the species to which the game animal belongs, on the prescribed tag and on the coverings or on the tag affixed to the covering. 2. Where a game animal is packed in a carton, the trade description shall include— (a) the words “Wild Game Carcase”; (b) the name of the species to which the game animal belongs; and (c) one of the following sets of words, as appropriate— (i) bone-in (ii) partly boned; or (iii) “boneless”; and (d) where the carcase is cut into more than 2 pieces, other than for bulk packed meat, the words “in pieces” or as a number followed by the symbol “PC”.

2. Bone-in and boneless primal game meat cuts— individually wrapped, layer packed or bulk packed. |
| 1. The trade description applied to bone‑in or boneless primal game meat cuts shall include— (a) “bone‑in” or “boneless” as appropriate; (b) the approved description of the cut or cuts in clear, by cypher or in clear and cypher; (c) the words “Wild Game”; (d) the name of the species to which the game animal cuts belong; and (e) in the case of individually wrapped primal cuts — the symbol “IW”; |

| (f) in the case of individually wrapped primal cuts that are vacuum packed — the symbol “IW/VAC”; (g) in the case of layer packed primal cuts — the symbol “LP”; (h) in the case of layer packed primal cuts that are vacuum packed — the symbol “LP/VAC”; (i) in the case of 2 or more primal cuts that are wrapped in a single covering — the symbol, “MW”; (j) in the cast of 2 or more primal cuts that are vacuum packed in a single covering — the symbol “MW/VAC”; (k) in the case of tray packed primal cuts — the symbol “TP”; (l) in the case of tray packed primal cuts that are vacuum packed — the symbol “TP/VAC”; or (m) in the case of other primal cuts that are vaccum packed — the symbol “VAC”; on the cartons or on the coverings. 2. The trade description applied to bone-in or boneless primal game meat cuts may include the number of cuts in the carton or in the covering expressed in clear or as a number followed by the symbol “PC”. 3. Where the trade description applied to bone-in or boneless primal game meat cuts includes a mass range, it shall be shown as— (a) numbers and a symbol that represent the minimum and maximum net mass of the cuts in the covering; or |

| (b) a number and symbol representing the— (i) minimum net mass of any cut in the covering; or (ii) maximum net mass of any cut in the covering; preceded or followed by words, or abbrevations of words that clearly indicate the intent. 4. Where a subcutaneous fat depth is included in the trade description applied to primal game meat cuts, it shall be expressed as— (a) numbers and symbols that represent the minimum and maximum subcutaneous fat depth on the cuts in the covering; or (b) a number and symbol representing the— (i) minimum subcutaneous fat depth on any cut in the covering; or (ii) maximum sub-cutaneous fat depth on any cut in the covering; preceded or followed by words, or abbrevations of words that clearly indicate the intent, on the cartons or coverings. 5. Where the trade description applied to bone-in or boneless primal game meat cuts includes a reference to the removal of subcutaneous fat, or there is no subcutaneous fat cover, it shall be shown in clear or the symbol “DEN”. |

| 6. Where a minimum chemical lean content is included in the trade description applied to primal game meat cuts, it shall be shown as a number followed by the symbol “CL”, on the cartons or coverings. |
3. Boneless game meat bulk pack—excluding primal cuts. | 1. Boneless game meat shall be derived from game animals complying with Clause 1, Column 2 of Category 1. | 1. The trade description applied to boneless game meat shall include— (a) the words “Boneless Wild Game Meat”; (b) the name of the species to which the animal belongs; and (c) the approved description applied to the cut or cuts from which the boneless bulk pack game meat was derived, in clear, in cypher or in clear and cypher, on the cartons or coverings. 2. Where the trade description applied to boneless bulk pack game meat includes a reference to the fat content, it shall be as a minimum chemical lean content shown as a number followed by the symbol “CL”, on the carton or covering. |
4. Rabbit—whole carcase | 1. A rabbit carcase shall be derived from an animal of the genus Oryctolagus. | 1. The trade description applied to rabbit carcases shall include the word “Rabbit”. 2. The trade description applied to rabbit carcases may include an indication as to the number of carcases contained within the carton or covering, on the outer carton or covering. 3. Where the trade description applied to rabbit carcases includes a mass range, it shall be shown as— (a) numbers and a symbol that represents the minimum and maximum net mass of the carcase in the coverings; or |

| (b) a number and symbol representing the— (i) minimum net mass of any carcase in the covering; or (ii) maximum net mass of any carcase in the covering; preceded or followed by words, or abbrevations of words that clearly indicate the intent, on the cartons or coverings. 4. Where the carcase has been prepared to include skin, head or feet, the trade description shall include the words “Skin On”, “Head On”, “Feet On” or a combination of any of these, on the cartons or coverings.

5. Rabbit—pieces or portions | 1. Rabbit pieces or portions shall be derived from rabbits complying with Clause 1, Column 2 of Category 4. | 1. 1. The trade description applied to rabbit pieces or portions shall include— (a) the word “Rabbit”; (b) the approved description of the pieces or portions, on the cartons or coverings. 2. 2. 6. Rabbit—edible offal | 1. Rabbit offal shall be derived from rabbits complying with Clause 1, Column 2 of Category 4. | 1. The trade description applied to rabbit offal shall include—the word “Rabbit” and the approved description of the cut or organ, on the cartons or coverings. 2. Where rabbit offal is packed in an inner container or package, the trade description may include a reference to any or all of the following— (a) the number of inner containers or packages; (b) type of inner containers or packages; (c) the net mass of inner containers or packages; or (d) the number of cuts or organs in inner containers or packages; on the outer cartons or coverings.

7. Hare—whole carcase | 1. A hare carcase shall be derived from an animal of the genus Lepus
| 1. The trade description applied to hare carcases shall include the word “Hare”. 2. The trade description applied to hare carcases may include an indication as to the number of carcases contained within the carton or covering, on the outer carton or covering. 3. Where the trade description applied to hare carcases includes a mass range, it shall be shown as— (a) numbers and a symbol that represents the minimum and maximum net mass of the carcase in the coverings; or

| (b) a number and symbol representing the— (i) minimum net mass or any carcase in the covering; or (ii) maximum net mass of any carcase in the covering, preceded or followed by words, or abbreviation of words, that indicate the intent, on the cartons or coverings. 4. Where the carcase has been prepared to include, skin, head, or feet, the trade description shall include the words “Skin On”, “Head On”, “Feet On” or a combination of any of these, on the cartons or coverings.

8. Hare—pieces or portions | 1. Hare pieces or portions shall be derived from hares complying with Clause 1, Column 2 of Category 7.
| 1. The trade description applied to hare pieces or portions shall include— (a) the word “Hare”; (b) the approved description of the pieces or portions, on the cartons or coverings. 2. The trade description applied to hare pieces or portions may include— (a) an indication of the number of pieces or portions in the carton or in the covering, and (b) the word or words “bone-in”, “boned-out”, “part boned” or “boneless” as appropriate 3. Where hare pieces or portions are packed in an inner container or package the trade description may include a reference to any or all of the following— (a) the number of inner containers or packages, or (b) type of inner containers or packages, or

| (c) the net mass of inner containers or packages, or (d) the number of pieces or portions contained in inner containers or packages on the outer cartons or coverings.

9. Hare—edible offal | 1. Hare offal shall be derived from hares complying with Clause 1, Column 2 of Category 7. | 1. The trade description applied to hare offal shall include—the word “Hare” and the approved description of the cut or organ, on the cartons or coverings. 2. Where hare offal is packed in an inner container or package, the trade description may include a reference to any or all of the following— (a) a number of inner containers or packages; (b) type of inner containers or packages; or (c) the net mass of inner containers or packages; or (d) the number of cuts or organs in inner containers or packages; on the cartons or coverings.

10. Chicken—whole bird | 1. A chicken shall be a bird which has not reached maturity and shall be derived from the species Gallus domesticus.
2. A chicken shall— (a) be a bird in which the metasternum is flexible (not ossified) (b) not have developed a hard spur
3. Where used, the mass classes of whole chickens shall be as follows— Reference—Dressed Whole Chicken | 1. The trade description applied to chickens shall include— (a) the word “Chicken”, or (b) the word “Boiler” on the cartons or coverings of whole chickens. 2. The trade description applied to the outer carton or coverings of whole chickens may include an indication of the number of whole birds contained within the carton or coverings. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed” in conjunction with the product description, on the cartons or coverings.

Where a mass class is included in the trade description applied to a whole chicken, it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 3 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

11. Boiler—whole bird
| 1. A boiler fowl shall be a female bird which has reached maturity and shall be derived from the species Gallus domesticus
2. Where used, the mass classes of whole boilers shall be as follows— Reference — Dressed Whole Boiler

| 1. The trade description applied to whole boilers shall include one of the following set of words listed below as appropriate— (i) “Boiler Fowl” or (ii) “Boiler” or (iii) “Hen” or (iv) “Boiler Hen” or (v) “Boiling Hen” on the cartons or coverings. 2. The trade description applied to the outer cartons or coverings of whole boilers may include an indication of the number of whole boilers contained within the carton or covering. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed” in conjunction with the product description on the cartons or coverings. 4. The trade description applied to whole boilers shall include a reference to— (a) the absence of the neck, if removed

| (b) the presence of giblets, and (c) the presence of any other part of the whole boiler that would normally be removed during dressing on the cartons or coverings. 5. Where a mass class is included in the trade description applied to a boiler, it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 2 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

12. Rooster—whole bird | 1. A rooster shall be derived from the species Gallus domesticus 2. A rooster shall be a male bird showing secondary sexual characteristics | 1. The trade description applied to whole roosters shall include the word “Rooster” on the cartons or coverings. 2. The trade description applied to the outer cartons or coverings of whole roosters may include an indication of the number of whole roosters contained in the carton or covering. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed”, in conjunction with the product description, on the cartons or coverings. 4. The trade description applied to whole roosters shall include a reference to— (a) the absence of the neck, if removed (b) the presence of the giblets, and (c) the presence of any other part of the whole rooster that would normally be removed during processing on the cartons or coverings.

13. Duck—whole bird | 1. A duck shall be derived from the species Anas platyrhynchus or Cairina moschata
| 1. The trade description applied to ducks shall include the word “Duck” on the cartons or coverings.

2. Where used, the mass classes of whole ducks shall be as follows—
Reference—Dressed Whole Duck Mass Class Net Mass Cypher (Kg) 10 over 1.0 11 over 1.1 12 over 1.2 13 over 1.3 14 over 1.4 and so on to 29 over 2.9 30 over 3.0 | 2. The trade description applied to the outer carton or covering of whole ducks may include an indication of the number of whole ducks contained within the carton or covering. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed”, in conjunction with the product description, on the cartons or coverings. 4. The trade description applied to whole ducks shall include a reference to— (a) the absence of the neck, if removed (b) the presence of giblets, and (c) the presence of any other part of the whole duck that would normally be removed during processing on the cartons or coverings. 5. Where a mass class is included in the trade description applied to a duck it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 2 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

14. Duckling—whole bird
| 1. A duckling shall be a bird which has not reached maturity and shall be derived from the species Anas platyrhynchus or Cairina moschata
2. A duckling shall (a) be a bird in which the metasternum is flexible (not ossified), and (b) have not developed a hard spur

2. The trade description applied to the outer carton or covering of whole duckling may include an indication of the number of whole ducks or ducklings contained within the carton or covering. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed”, in conjunction with the product description, on the cartons or coverings.

| 3. Where used, the mass classes of whole duckling shall be as follows—

Where a mass class is included in the trade description applied to a duckling it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 3 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

15. Goose—whole bird | 1. A goose shall be derived from the species Anser anser
2. Where used, the mass classes of whole geese shall be as follows—

The trade description applied to the outer carton or covering of whole geese may include an indication of the number of whole goslings or geese contained in the carton or covering. 3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed” in conjunction with the product description on the carton or covering. 4. The trade description applied to whole geese shall include a reference to— (a) the absence of the neck, if removed (b) the presence of the giblets, and (c) the presence of any other part of the whole goose that would normally be removed during processing on the cartons or coverings.

| 5. Where a mass class is included in the trade description applied to a goose, it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 2 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

16. Gosling—whole bird
| 1. A gosling shall be a bird which has not reached maturity and shall be derived from the species Anser anser. 2. A gosling shall be a bird in which the metasternum is flexible (not ossified)

17. Turkey—whole bird | 1. A turkey shall be derived from the species Gallopavo gallopavo | 1. The trade description applied to whole turkeys shall include the word “Turkey” on the cartons or coverings.

| 2. Where used the sex of turkeys shall be determined as follows— (a) hen, being a female turkey (b) tom, being a male turkey
3. Where used the mass class of whole turkeys shall be as follows—
Reference—Dressed Whole Turkey Mass Class Net Mass Cypher (Kg) 18 over 1.8 19 over 1.9 20 over 2.0 21 over 2.1 22 over 2.2 and so on to 98 over 9.8 99 over 9.9
| 2. The trade description applied to the outer carton or covering of whole turkeys may include an indication of the number of whole turkeys within the carton or covering.
3. The trade description may include the word “Dressed” in conjunction with the product description on the cartons or coverings. 4. The trade description applied to whole turkeys shall include a reference to— (a) the absence of the neck, if removed (b) the presence of the giblets, and (c) the presence of any other part of the carcase that would normally be removed during processing on the cartons or coverings. 5. Where the trade description includes the sex of turkeys it shall be shown as (a) the word “Hen” or (b) the word “Tom” on the cartons or coverings.
6. Where a mass class is included in the trade description of turkeys it shall be expressed as a mass class cypher as per Clause 3 Column 2 of this category on the cartons or coverings.

18. Poultry pieces or portions | 1. The pieces or portions of poultry shall be derived— (a) from birds complying with categories 10 to 17 inclusive 2. Boneless poultry pieces or portions shall not be produced in machines that emulsify the product
| 1. The trade description applied to poultry pieces or portions shall include— (a) the name of the category of poultry from which the pieces or portions were derived, and (b) the approved description of the pieces or portions on the cartons or coverings.

| 2. The trade description applied to poultry pieces or portions may include— (a) an indication of the number of pieces or portions in the carton or in the covering, and (b) the word or words “bone‑in”, “boned-out”, “part boned” or “boneless” as appropriate 3. Where poultry pieces or portions are packed in an inner container or package the trade description may include a reference to any or all of the following— (a) the number of inner containers or packages, or (b) type of inner containers or packages, or (c) the net mass of inner containers or packages, or (d) the number of pieces or portions contained in inner containers or packages on the outer cartons or coverings. 4. Where the trade description applied to poultry includes a reference to the removal of skin, it shall include the words “skin off” or “skinless”, on the cartons or coverings.

19. Mechanically separated poultry | 1. Mechanically separated poultry shall be derived from poultry—complying with categories 10 to 18 inclusive | 1. The trade description applied to mechanically separated poultry shall include— (a) the words “mechanically separated” followed by— (i) the word “poultry”, or

| (ii) a word or words indicating the name of the category of poultry from which the mechanically separated poultry was derived provided only one category of poultry was used in the production of the mechanically separated poultry, and (b) a statement indicating the maximum calcium content, on the cartons or coverings.

20. Poultry—edible offal | 1. Poultry edible offal shall be derived from poultry— complying with categories 10 to 17 inclusive | 1. The trade description applied to poultry offal shall include— (a) (i) the word “poultry” or (ii) a word or words indicating the name of the category of poultry from which the offal was derived, and (b) the approved description of the item or organ on the cartons or coverings. 2. Where poultry offal is packed in an inner container or package the trade description may include a reference to any or all of the following— (a) the number of inner containers or packages, and (b) type of inner containers or packages, or (c) the net mass of the inner container or package, or

| (d) the number of items or organs contained in inner containers and packages, on the outer cartons or coverings.
