Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987.

1. Amendment
1.1 The Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2. Regulation 2A (Prescribed international agreements)
2.1 Regulation 2A:
Omit “the Schedule”, substitute “Schedule 1”.
3. New regulation 2B
3.1 After regulation 2A insert:
Supplementary Agency Agreements
“2B. A Supplementary Agency Agreement mentioned in an item in Schedule 2 has effect, for the purposes of the Act, from the day mentioned in column 3 of the item.”.
4. Regulation 3 (Nuclear material to which Part II of the Act does not apply
4.1 Subparagraph 3 (1) (g) (i):
After “of” insert, “the Agency Agreement or”.
4.2 Paragraph 3 (2) (c):
After “of” insert, “the Agency Agreement or”.
4.3 Paragraph 3 (3) (c):
After “of” insert, “the Agency Agreement or”.
5. Schedule
5.1 Heading:
Omit the heading, substitute:
“SCHEDULE 1 Regulation 2A”
5.2 Item 1:
Omit the item.
5.3 Add at the end:
“5 | Agreement between the Government of Australia and the Government of the United Mexican States concerning cooperation in Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy and the Transfer of Nuclear Material | 28 February 1992” |
6. New Schedule 2
6.1 After Schedule 1, add:
