Australian Military Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Australian Military Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE:  These Regulations commence on gazettal:  see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Various provisions—references to the Chief of the General Staff

2.1   Omit from the following provisions “Chief of the General Staff”, substitute “Chief of Army”:

 (a) provisions in which the expression to be omitted occurs once only:

  Subregulation 3 (1) (definition of “Formation”), subregulations 11 (2), 11A (1), (4) and (5), 73 (1), (2) and (3), 76 (1), (2), (3) and (4), regulation 77, subregulations 79 (1), (2) and (3) and 82 (2), regulation 102, paragraph 124 (1A) (b), subregulations 124A (3), 125 (1), (2) and (3) and 129 (1), regulation 129A, paragraph 142 (a), subregulations 143 (2) and 161 (2), (3) and (4), regulation 175, paragraphs 176 (1) (l), (m), (n) and (u) and (2) (a), subregulation 177 (1), subregulation 177 (3) (opening words), subparagraph 177 (3) (b) (ii), subregulations 178 (1) and 192 (2), paragraphs 192 (3) (a), (b), (ba) and (c), subregulation 192 (6), paragraph 192 (7) (c), regulation 486, subregulations 487 (1), (2), (3) and (4), regulations 488 and 488A, subregulations 595 (1), 597 (1) and (2) and 782 (1), (3) and (4), regulation 806 (definitions of “military work” and “closed place”), subregulation 807 (2) and subregulation 811 (1);

 (b) provisions in which the expression to be omitted occurs twice:

  Regulation 17, paragraph 142 (b), regulation 193 and subregulation 597 (3).

2.2   Omit from regulation 12 “The Chief of the General Staff”, substitute “The Chief of Army”.

3.   Regulation 809 (Admission to closed place)

3.1   Paragraph 809 (b):

Omit “a member of the Chief of the General Staff”, substitute “the Chief of Army”.
