Protection of the Sea (Shipping Levy Collection) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and in pursuance of section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Protection of the Sea (Shipping Levy Collection) Act 1981.

Citation

 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Protection of the Sea (Shipping Levy Collection) Regulations.

Interpretation

 2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, “the Act” means the Protection of the Sea (Shipping Levy Collection) Act 1981.

Service of notice requiring an amount to be paid on account of levy

 3. For the purposes of sub-section 8 (3) of the Act, the manner of service of a notice on the master of a ship is—

 (a) by serving the notice on him personally; or

 (b) by sending the notice to him by post addressed to him at the ship.
