Extradition (Physical Protection of Nuclear
Material) Regulations
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and pursuant to section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Extradition Act 1988.

Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Extradition (Physical Protection of Nuclear Material) Regulations.
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
“the Act” means the Extradition Act 1988;
“the Physical Protection Convention” means the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, being the Convention referred to in, and a copy of the English text of which is set out in Schedule 4 to, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987.
Declaration as to extradition countries
3. Each of the countries specified in the Schedule is declared to be an extradition country.

Application of Act
4. Notwithstanding any limitations, conditions, exceptions or qualifications to which the application of the Act in relation to each extradition country specified in the Schedule is subject in accordance with provision made under paragraph 11 (1) (b) of the Act, the Act applies in relation to each of those extradition countries subject to the Physical Protection Convention.
