REGULATIONS UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Customs Act 1901-1966.

Amendments of the Customs Regulations

1. Regulation 1a of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting from the definition of “ primage duty ” the words “ section 25 of the Customs Tariff 1965 ” and inserting in their stead the words “ section 27 of the Customs Tariff 1966 ”.

2. Regulation 41 of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “ Customs Tariff 1965 ” and inserting in their stead the words “ Customs Tariff 1966 ”.

3. The Customs Regulations are amended by omitting the heading—

“ TRANSIT PERMITS”

appearing immediately after regulation 45 of those Regulations.

4. Regulation 72 of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “ section 19 of the Customs Tariff 1965 ” and inserting in their stead the words “ section 20 of the Customs Tariff 1966 ”.

5.—(1.) Regulation 73 of the Customs Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (1.) after the words—

“ Wireless receivers and transmitters for wireless telegraphy and telephony.”

the words—

“ X-ray apparatus and parts of, and accessories for use with, such apparatus.”.

(2.) The amendment made by the last preceding sub-regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation on the first day of January, 1966.

6. The Customs Regulations are amended—

(a) by omitting the words—

“ Sec. 141. STANDARDS FOR CONDENSATIONS, ETC.”

appearing immediately after regulation 108 of those Regulations; and

(b) by omitting the words—

“ Sec. 151 and Customs Tariff.

GOODS AND SAMPLES EXPORTED AND AFTERWARDS RE-IMPORTED.”

appearing immediately after regulation 110 of those Regulations.

7. Regulation 126 of the Customs Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (5.).

8. Forms 5, 5aa, 11, 30 and 46 in the Schedule to the Customs Regulations are amended by omitting the symbols “ £ s. d.” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the symbol “ $ ”.

9. Form 14 in the Schedule to the Customs Regulations is repealed and the following form inserted in its stead:—
