REGULATION UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1968.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Customs Act 1901-1968.

Amendments of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations†

Second Schedule.

The Second Schedule to the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting after Item 3 the following item:—

“ 4

 Aphrodisiacs, that is to say, cantharides, cantharidin and yohimbine and any other substance that is, or is likely to be, productive, or is capable of being converted into a substance that is, or is likely to be, productive, of effects substantially of the same character or nature as, or analogous to, those produced by cantharides, cantharidin or yohimbine ”;

(b) by inserting after Item 8 the following item:—

“ 9

 Daggers, including any sharp pointed stabbing instrument ordinarily capable of being concealed on the person and having—

 

(a) a flat blade with cutting edges on both sides; or

and

(b) a needle-like blade the cross-section of which is circular or elliptical or has three or more sides ”;

(c) by inserting after Item 18 the following items:—

“ 19

 Knives of the kind known as flick-knives, including any knives the blades of which can be folded or recessed into the handles and, when so folded or recessed, can be made, by the moving of buttons or levers, to spring open fully and be locked in the open position

Knuckle-dusters ”.
