 Goods packed in a bag or sack being goods the weight of which, together with the weight of the bag or sack, exceeds two hundred pounds

 Goods to which, or to the coverings of which, there is applied a representation of the Arms, a flag or a seal of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory of the Commonwealth or a representation so nearly resembling the Arms, a flag or a seal of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory of the Commonwealth as to be likely to deceive

 The importer shall produce to the Collector the permission in writing of the Director-General of Civil Aviation to import the goods

 Articles to which, or to any covering or container of which, there is applied any marking (including, in addition to words, any contraction, abbreviation or any substitute for words) in a language other than the language ordinarily used by the people of the country of origin of the goods

 There shall be applied to the articles or to the covering or container thereof, as the case may be, in conjunction with the marking referred to, wherever such marking appears, and in conspicuous and legible characters, a definite qualifying statement in the English language indicating the country in which the articles were made or produced, unless the Minister directs that the application of the statement to any particular articles, coverings or containers is unnecessary, when the application of the statement shall not be required

 Chloramphenicol (Chloromycetin), dihydrostreptomycin, penicillin and streptomycin, their salts and any preparation containing any of these substances or their salts

 1. The goods shall conform with the standard constituted by the statements in the respective monographs on these sub-stances in the British Pharmacopoeia

 2. The goods shall be accompanied by a certificate, signed by or on behalf of the exporter of the goods, certifying that the goods conform with that standard

 The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than fifteen pounds not weight unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

 and the goods are entered for home consumption

 The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than twenty pounds net weight unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

 1. Each thermometer shall be marked with the name of the country in which it was manufactured

 2. the goods shall net be imported unless the Comptroller has granted permission in writing to import the goods

 3. In the case of a thermometer other than a thermometer—

(a) which bears the monogram of the National Physical Laboratory of Great Britain ; or

(b) which the Comptroller is satisfied has been subjected to tests similar to the tests applied by the National Physical Laboratory of Great Britain and which complies as to accuracy of the scale with the requirements of the British Standard Specification for Clinical Maximum Thermometers No. 691—1936 or, where the requirements of that Standard Specification have been amended or substituted, the requirements of that Standard Specification as so amended or substituted,

 2. The bales containing the goods shall be plainly branded or marked with the trade name, measurement, weight, porter and shot of the cornsacks

 Eggs (not in shell), in liquid form, whites and yolks combined, and whites and yolks separately, when imported for use in articles of food

 A certificate to the satisfaction of the Collector from the health authority of the district in which the material is prepared that the eggs used are clean and sound, that the material is prepared and packed under such conditions as to premises and methods as are considered hygienically satisfactory and that such material is free from preservative shall be produced to the Collector

 Goods imported in any ship or aircraft which has not her certificate of registration on board

 The absence of the certificate must be accounted for to the satisfaction of the Collator

 Goods to which is attached the good of any plant the importation of which is prohibited under the Quarantine Act 1908-1050

 1. The goods shall not be imported unless the permission in writing of the Chief Quarantine Officer (Plants Division) of the State into which it is proposed to import them has been granted

 2. The goods shall be treated to the satisfaction of that officer for the purpose of rendering the seed ungerminative

 3. The expenses of treatment and of the supervision of treatment shall be borne by the importer

 Instruments for indicating specific gravity in accordance with Baumé’s scale

(a) marked with the temperature and modulus of standardization ; and

(b) accurate to within one sub-division of gradation

 Insulating electric conductors in the form of cable or flexible cord—

 1. The exterior of the cable or cord shall, at intervals of not mere than one yard along its length, bear a legible and indelible mark or marks sufficient to identify the manufacturer of the cable or cord

(a) designated, or, in the opinion of an officer, classifiable, as two hundred and fifty volt grade or six hundred and sixty volt grade; and

 2. A tag or label shall be attached to each coil or reel of cable or cord showing in respect of the cable or cord—

(b) of a sectional area of one square inch or less

(a) the name, registered trade name or registered mark, of the manufacturer ;

(b) its rated working voltage ;

(c) the sectional area of the conductor ;

(d) the type of insulation and protection ; and

(e) in the case of cable or cord insulated other than with vulcanized rubber, vulcanized rubber compound or Polyvinyl Chloride or Copolymer—

(i) the insulation resistance per thousand yards at sixty degrees Fahrenheit after twelve hours’ immersion in water, while still immersed, and after one minute’s electrification at five hundred volts ; and

(ii) the voltage test which the cable or cord is guaranteed to withstand

 3. The importer of the cable or cord shall satisfy an officer that the cable or cord complies with such of the conditions and requirements specified in any Approval and Test Specification of the

 Insulating electric conductors in the form of cable or flexible cord—continued.

(a) voltage tests ;

(b) minimum insulation resistance ;

(c) dimensions, resistances and types of conductor ; and

(d) such other matters as an officer directs

 4. In the case of cable or cord to which no Approval and Test Specification of the Standards Association of Australia applies, the importer of the cable or cord shall have obtained the consent in writing of the Minister to the importation of the cable or cord

 The kerosene shall have a flash point of not less than 73 degrees Fahrenheit

 The seed shall contain mixed with it and uniformly distributed throughout its bulk not less than ten per centum of the seed which has been stained a distinct red colour by treatment with a solution of suitable red dye

 Manure containing calcium cyanamide or arsenic, or any other irritant poisonous sub-stance or any other similar poisonous substance in a proportion sufficient to render the manure poisonous if it comes into contact with the mucous membranes or skin of human beings or is inhaled

 1. The manure shall be so packed as to allow the packages to be handled without escape of any of the contents

 2. Each package shall be clearly labelled or marked with a statement indicating that the contents are—

(a) poisonous ; and

(b) that care must be taken to prevent the contents from coming into content with the mucous membranes or the skin of human beings and to prevent the possibility of inhalation

 Margarine and other similar butter substitutes

 1. the goods shall be coloured a distinct pink colour by the addition of alkanet root

 2. The packages in which the goods are imported shall be distinctly branded with the name of the contents

 Meat products, and cooked meat and cooked edible parts of animals contained in hermetically sealed cans or tins

 The goods shall be accompanied by an official meat inspection certificate issued by a qualified person duly appointed for the examination of meat in the country of export showing that the goods have been examined and found by ante mortem and post mortem examination to be free from disease and suitable for human consumption

 The money or coin shall conform to the established standard in weight or fineness

 Organic compounds of lead for use in internal combustion engines

 The compounds shall be in containers built so strongly as to prevent the possibility of breakage and leakage of the contents

 2. Each container shall be clearly labelled or marked with a statement indicating—

(a) that the contents are poisonous ; and

 Organic compounds of load for use in internal combustion engines—continued.

 Petroleum and shale products having a flash point of loss than 73 degrees Fahrenheit

 1. The goods, unless imported in a tanker, shall be contained in cans, drums or packages so constructed as not to be likely to be broken in handling or to become defective or insecure while being conveyed, or to allow the goods to escape or to be unintentially opened

 2. The cans, drums and packages shall be plainly marked with the name of their contents together with the words “ Highly Inflammable ”

 The Collector shall be satisfied that the plumage or skins are being imported for educational or scientific purposes

(a) Birds of Paradise, family Paradiseidae ;

(b) Humming Birds, family Trochilidae ;

(c) Pheasants, whole family Phasianidae and their hybrids;

(d) Crowned Pigeon, family Columbidae ;

(e) Any of the several species of large-crested pigeons of the genus Goura, inhabiting New Guinea and the adjacent islands;

(f) Owls, family Strigidae ;

(g) Kingfishers, family Alcedinidae ;

(h) Macaws, order Psittaci;

(i) Any parrot of the genus Sittace or Macrocercus ;

(j) Stork tribe, family Ciconiidae ;

(k) Heron Tribe, family Ardeidae ;

(l) Ibises and Spoonbills, family Plataleidae ;

(m) Todies, family Todidae ;

(n) Cock of the Rock, Rupicola aurantia ;

(o) Quezal, or Resplendent Trogon, Phoramacrus mocinno ; and

(p) Any members of the Grebe family (Podicipidae)

The importer shall produce to the Collector the permission in writing of the Director General of Health to import the goods

Radioactive material and substances, including Radium and Radioactive Isotopes, and articles containing radioactive material or substances

The importer shall produce to the Collector the permission in writing of the Director-General of Health to import the goods

The importer shall produce to the Collector the permission in writing of the Minister of State for Shipping and Transport to import the ships

The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than ten pounds not weight, unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples ;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer ; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than five gallons, unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples ;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer ; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

Spirits in cases (not being perfumed or medicinal spirits)

The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than two reputed gallons unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples ;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer ; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

The goods shall be of the following standards of strength and purity:—

(a) the tea shall have a soluble extract of not less than thirty per centum by weight, calculated on a moisture free basis ;

(b) the total ash shall not be more than eight parts per centum ; and

(c) the soluble ash shall not be less than three parts per centum calculated on a moisture free basis

Thyroid and preparations containing thyroid

1. The goods shall conform with the standard constituted by the statements in the respective monographs on these substances in the British Pharmacopoeia

2. The goods shall be accompanied by a certificate, signed by or on behalf of the exporter of the goods, certifying that the goods conform with that standard

Tobacco whether manufactured or unmanufactured

The goods shall be imported only in packages containing not less than twenty pounds not weight, unless the Collector is satisfied—

(a) that the goods are samples;

(b) that the goods are intended for private use by the importer; or

(c) that the goods are surplus ships’ or aircraft’s stores,

Uniforms or badges being naval, military, police or other official uniforms or badges or any uniform or badge so nearly resembling an official uniform or badge as to be calculated to deceive or any goods to which is applied a representation of an official badge

The Collector shall be satisfied that the delivery of such goods to the importer is authorized by the proper official authority of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory of the Commonwealth, as the case may be

Coca leaves, being the leaves of any plant of the genus of the erythroxylaceae from which cocaine can be extracted either directly or by chemical transformation

Cocaine (including crude cocaine, being any crude extract of the coca leaf that contains cocaine) its salts and—

(1) ecgonine (being laevo-ecgonine and derivatives of laeve-ecgonine capable of being used for the recovery of cegonine), its salts, its esters and salts of these esters, and any preparation containing ecgonine, its salts, its esters or the salts of its esters
