Navigation (Orders) Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE GOVERNOR GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Principal Regulations
1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Navigation (Orders) Regulations.
Minister may make orders
2. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (b) “section 253a” and substituting “sections 215 and 229, Division 6a of Part IV and sections 253a and 258”;
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “section 240” and substituting “sections 124, 232, 240 and 283a”; and
(c) by omitting sub-regulation (4) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(4) The Minister may, by instrument in writing, make orders with respect to any matter for or in relation to which provision may be made under the Act by virtue of the provisions of Part Xa of the Act.”.

Offences
3. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting the following paragraphs:
“(a) if the offender is a natural person—by a fine not exceeding $2,000, or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months, or both; or
(b) if the offender is a body corporate—by a fine not exceeding $5,000.”.
