Health Insurance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Health Insurance Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2.   Regulation 13 (Particulars to be recorded on accounts, receipts and bulk billing agreement)

2.1   Paragraph 13 (2) (b):

Omit “ ‘in patient’ ”, substitute “ ‘patient’ ”.

3.   Regulation 14 (Medicare benefit not payable in respect of certain professional services)

3.1   Paragraph 14 (2) (f):

Omit “an in-patient”, substitute “a patient”.

4.   Regulation 30 (Referrals: special cases)

4.1   Subregulation 30 (1):

Omit “an in-patient”, substitute “a patient”.

5.   Regulation 31 (Validity of referrals to specialists or consultant physicians)

5.1   Subregulation 31 (2):

Omit “an in-patient”, substitute “a patient”.
