REGULATIONS UNDER THE CURRENCY ACT 1965-1969.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Currency Act 1965-1969.

Amendments of the Currency Regulations

Designs of coins.

1. Regulation 4 of the Currency Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting paragraph (a) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

"(a) in respect of the shape of the coin—

(i) in the case of a coin of the denomination of Fifty cents—having the shape of an equilateral and equiangular dodecagon; and

(ii) in any other case—circular;"; and

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b) the words " or Two cents " and inserting in their stead the words ", Two cents or Fifty cents ".

Dimensions of coins.

2. Regulation 5 of the Currency Regulations is amended by omitting the words " for the diameter of the coin " and inserting in their stead the words " for the shortest diameter of a coin of the denomination of Fifty cents or for the diameter of a coin of another denomination ".

Remedy in respect of composition of coins of denomination of Fifty cents.

3. Regulation 7 of the Currency Regulations is repealed.

The Schedule.

4. The Schedule to the Currency Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule inserted in its stead:—
