Remuneration Tribunal (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Remuneration Tribunal (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 5 (Prescribed offices and appointments for the purposes of paragraph 3 (4) (v) of the Act)

2.1   Add at the end:

 “; (h) the appointment, by Letters Patent, of a person as a Commissioner to inquire into:

 (i) the effectiveness and suitability of existing arrangements for:

 (A) the mechanisms for the control and accountability of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (‘the Service’); and

 (B) the organisation and management of the Service; and

 (C) the protection of the Service’s intelligence sources and methods; and

 (D) the resolution of grievances and complaints relating to the Service; and

 (ii) whether any changes in existing arrangements are required or desirable.”.
