Health Insurance Commission Regulations 2 (Amendment)

 

 

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Commission Act 1973.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Health Insurance Commission Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2.   Regulation 3 (Additional functions of the Commission: investigations relating to excessive services)

2.1   Paragraphs 3 (2) (d):

Omit the paragraph.

 

 

3.   New regulation 3F

3.1   After regulation 3E, insert:

 

Additional functions of the Commission: planning and preparation in relation to legislative proposals

 

 “3F. (1)  For the purposes of subsection 8E (1) of the Act, the following function is prescribed, namely, to undertake preparatory work in relation to a legislative proposal referred to the Commission by the Minister.

 “(2) In subregulation (1), ‘legislative proposal’ means:

 (a) a Bill that has been introduced into the Parliament; or

 (b) a proposal for a Bill; or

 (c) draft regulations.”.
