Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Act 1984.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations are taken to have commenced on 8 January 1996.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Judicial and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Allowances) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   New Regulation 3

3.1   Add at the end:

Remuneration of officer appointed Director of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare

 3. (1) If a person appointed to hold the office of Director of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare was, immediately before the appointment, an officer of the Australian Public Service having a classification of Senior Executive Band 3, the person is to be paid, during the period of the appointment (including any period of re-appointment) to that office, instead of the remuneration otherwise payable in respect of that office, remuneration at the rate specified in subregulation (2).

 (2) For the purposes of subregulation (1), the specified rate is:

 (a) for the period commencing on 8 January 1996 and ending at the end of 6 March 1996—$115,980 a year; and

 (b) for the period commencing on 7 March 1996—$117,836 a year.”.
