Shipping Registration Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Shipping Registration Act 1981

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 October 1986.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Shipping Registration Regulations.

3. Regulation 10 of the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Tonnage measurement of ship before registration

“10. For the purposes of sub-section 16 (2) of the Act, the following class of ships is prescribed, namely ships the tonnage length of which is less than 24 metres.”.

New certificates and provisional certificates

4. Regulation 14 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting in paragraph (3) (b) “the Registrar or” after “produced to”.

Registered agent

5. Regulation 30 of the Principal Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following sub-regulation:

“(2) In paragraph (1) (c), “address” has the same meaning as in section 64 of the Act.”.

6. Schedule 3 to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following
