Protecting Our Communities (Disaster Resilience) Program

To improve the ability of communities to endure and respond to natural disasters, by:

(a) funding the development, installation, improvement or alteration of telecommunications infrastructure; and

(b) funding projects to reduce the possibility of bushfires, assist with extinguishing bushfires or reduce the impact of bushfires on communities (including on communities’ ability to use telecommunications infrastructure during and after natural disasters), especially given the increased risk and effect of bushfires due to climate change; and

(b) with respect to Indigenous Australians and particular groups of Indigenous Australians; or

(c) to give effect to Australia’s obligations under the Paris Agreement, particularly Articles 7 and 8.
